Join WSU Extension to improve your sprayer performance this season. Extension Specialist Gwen Hoheisel has provided research and extension to tree fruit, berries and grapes since 2006. Her work focuses on sustainable pest management and application technologies. Gwen will provide a FREE in-field demo on tree fruit sprayer performance at two locations in March.

Improving Sprayer Performance (Okanogan)
Friday, March 27 @ 1:00-5:00PM
Stennes Orchards
64 Okanogan Cemetery Road
Okanogan WA 98840

The program will cover:
• Matching spray pattern to canopy shape. Learn to analyze spray distribution and adjust nozzles to get every drop to the crop.
• Matching airspeed to your canopy. Airspeed: how much is enough? How much is too much? Learn how to reduce airspeed with fan speed, blade pitch, and baffles to match canopy type and reduce drift.
• Covering the target. Droplet size considerations. Adjust to apply many small droplets that will stick to the whole leaf surface. Gwen will demo nozzles, pressure gauges, and proper calibration.

This event is funded by USDA NIFA-Crop Protection Grant and co-sponsored by Chelan Fruit Cooperative.

Directions: From US-97 turn onto WA-20 West. Turn right on 2nd Avenue S. and continue for 1/2 mile. Turn left on Conconully Street and continue for 1/2 mile. Make slight left onto Murray Street / Okanogan Cemetery Road and continue for 1/2 mile. Destination will be on right.
