KOHO  101

A wildfire that sparked on the western edge of Douglas County early Tuesday has been fully contained.

The blaze broke out just before 9:30 yesterday morning and spread rapidly in the hot and dry conditions, burning grass, brush and wheat.

The fire prompted a Level 3 evacuation notice for one home near Waterville and the closure of several local roads.

Approximately 1,500 acres were torched and a combine was destroyed. There are no reports of any structures being damaged or destroyed and no injuries are known.
