City of Leavenworth Considering Easing its Restrictions on Beekeeping
Leavenworth mayor Carl Florea chats with KOHO Morning Show host Chris Hansen about the city’s exploration of a possible easing on beekeeping restrictions within town limits. Florea also discusses the latest pandemic protocols being looked at during the city’s busy winter season, as well as recent talks with a town in France about the possible establishment of a sister city relationship.
Wow Leavenworth is moving up in the world of bee friendliness. I have been a keeper for 4 years and member of the Wenatchee valley beekeeper association . It makes my heart happy that Leavenworth is looking into leniency on allowing honeybees in city limits. It can be done in a responsible and safe way . Not to mention bees and their keepers are already here, I know several members on the outskirts of Leavenworth but the swarms don’t care about city lines lol
