Goodwin Bridge, Salmon Recovery, 2020 Budget – Chelan County Commission Update
Chelan County is calling for bids on the West Cashmere Bridge Replacement Project, the largest project the county’s road department has ever undertaken, said County Commissioner Bob Bugert.
The $25.5 million project will replace the West Cashmere Bridge, commonly called the Goodwin Road Bridge, with the bridge closing to all traffic beginning sometime in March.
Bids will be received until Jan. 21, when they will be opened at the regular meeting of the Chelan County Board of County Commissioners. A contractor is expected to be on board in February, and construction started in March with the demolition of the existing bridge.
Bugert also provides an update on the finalizing the county’s 2020 budget and $1.8 million in salmon recovery awarded this week.
