Apple Blossom Festival 2020 Royalty Candidates Announced, Top 10 Named Jan. 8
The Apple Blossom Festival royalty selection process is underway, with 28 candidates announced this week. 15 are seniors in the Wenatchee School District and 13 from the Eastmont School District.
The group will compete for a chance to be one of the ten candidates who will then vie for the Royal Court for the 101st Festival, said Festival Administrator Darci Christoferson.
On Wednesday, January 8, the Candidates will give a 2-3 minute speech in front of their peers. A panel of three out-of-town judge’s votes will count as 50 percent of the total Top 10 score, and their student body votes count as the other 50 percent. The Top 10 Candidates will be announced that evening Jan. 8 at the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee.
The Top 10 Candidates will compete at the Royalty Selection Pageant Feb. 8, where over $31,000 in scholarships will be awarded.
