‘Huge Opportunities’ In Chelan-Douglas Counties, Says Outgoing Port Director

The Port of Douglas County’s Executive Director Lisa Parks announced her resignation at a Port meeting earlier this month, effective today, Oct. 30.
With the Ports of Douglas and Chelan Counties in the process of consolidating, having only one port director was identified as a cost-saving measure. Parks said due to that, she essentially offered to step aside and pursue other interests.
Port of Chelan Executive Director Jim Kuntz will oversee the new consolidated port, with the merger complete by the end of the year.
Prior to working with the port of Douglas County, Parks worked at the Douglas County Planning and Development department and as community development director for the City of Leavenworth.
Parks took a new job with Seattle environmental consulting firm Maul Foster Alongi, working with port districts across Washington.
