North Central Washington’s State Senator Brad Hawkins launched his third annual listening tour yesterday. Similar to his first two listening tours, Hawkins says he’s visiting all four counties in the 12th legislative district with his staff.
This year’s tour includes meeting with residents and officials in Leavenworth, Cashmere, Wenatchee, Rock Island, Quincy, Mansfield, Pateros, Twisp, Mazama and Chelan.
Hawkins said hosting a listening tour allows him to hear ideas and concerns that can be turned into successful legislative action.
Hawkins concludes the listening tour with a community hike this Saturday morning along Chelan Butte, no RSVP needed.
Hawkins said he’ll craft a legislative plan this fall using the public comments. The legislative session starts January 13.
