Port Merger Planning Continues, Gov. Inslee to Visit Cashmere Business Park

The Ports of Chelan and Douglas Counties have started the process of a functional consolidation – essentially merging their staffs into a single organization.

Chelan County Port Executive Director Jim Kuntz told KOHO they’re on track to finish the merger by January 1.

The Port is also welcoming Governor Jay Inslee to the new Cashmere Business Park (at the old mill site on Sunset Highway) for a ribbon cutting this Monday, Sept. 16 at Noon.

Commission President JC Baldwin said they already have two tenants in the facility – one from Chelan, one from California – and expect more businesses to coming to Cashmere, as commercial space is in short supply in the Valley right now.
