Apple Blossom 2019: Festival Founder’s Great Grandsons Named Grand Marshals

The Apple Blossom Festival’s centennial is around the corner and organizers are paying tribute to the festival’s founder Susan Wagner. Wagner’s great-grandsons will be the Grand Marshals of the 2019 Festival.
Mark Farnham and David Wright will travel from New Zealand to stay in Wenatchee for five days, participating in the All Service Club Luncheon, the Festival Ball and the Stemilt Growers Grand Parade.
Festival Administrator Darci Christoferson said Geico Insurance is paying for their airfare, about $6,500.
David Wright said in a statement he’s “sure that Grannie Sue is up there somewhere, proud to see that 100 years of her idea is now the grand festival that it is today.”
Mark Farnham said he heard stories for years from his mother and grandmother who had traveled to Wenatchee for the Apple Blossom Festival with their mother and grandmother Susan Wagner. He said it has always been a fascination to go back one day and witness this great Festival and he can’t wait to be part of it.
Wonderful!! All in the family!
