Police ‘All Hands On Deck’ During School Lock Downs, Sheriff Says

Last Friday, all Cashmere schools were placed on modified lockout following an online post threatening Cashmere High School. Police believe they have their suspect.

A comment was posted on a YouTube channel that stated that someone was going to shoot up the high school. The comment is believed to have been posted by 18-year-old Geraldo Tovar-Medina of Wenatchee. The post was reported to the high school’s resource officer and the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. Tovar-Medina was later booked into the Chelan County Jail on charges of threats to bomb or injure people.

Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett joins Dan Langager on the KOHO Morning Show to talk about the law enforcement response to this incident and others like it, and the importance of students speaking up when they see or hear threats.
