Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILT) A Windfall For Chelan, Okanogan Counties

Chelan County is getting a windfall payment from the feds. It’s because a large chunk of county land is owned by the federal government and therefore is not taxable to help pay for county services. Chelan and Okanogan Counties receive the most money in the state, as Ken Johannessen reports.
