How Weather Impacts Fire – A Chat With Meteorologist Josh Clark

The Uno Peak Fire is burning in the steep slopes of the east shore of Lake Chelan northwest of Manson on lands managed by the US Forest Service. It is about 10% contained at 8,500 acres. The fire began on August 30th and the cause is under investigation. It is burning in timber, heavy downed wood, brush, and grass. Level 1 evacuation alerts remain in place for the Canoe Creek and Llama Ranch areas.

We talked with Josh Clark, meteorologist for the fire’s incident command team, about the importance of having a weatherperson on the scene to help firefighters develop their game plans for fighting the fire.
