Chelan PUD, Plug-In NCW Install Five Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

ctc-ev-charging-station-lightlyElectric vehicle ownership in the area continues to rise as performance increases while decreasing the amount of CO2 from internal combustion engines. The Chelan County PUD teamed up with the non-profit Plug-In NCW and now there are five new public electric charging stations in the greater Wenatchee area.

In 2015, PUD commissioners adopted a strategic plan that included about $4 million annually for Public Power Benefit programs. In addition to expanding the District’s high speed fiber network to about 90 percent of the county by 2025, funds were also allocated to install electric vehicle charging stations.

Dan Langager chats with Andrew Grassell, Energy Development and Conservation Manager, and Jim White, Senior Energy Efficiency Engineer.
