North Cascades National Park Sports Record Visits in 2016

The North Cascades National Park Service Complex recorded nearly one million visitors in 2016, the National Park Service’s centennial year. Lake Chelan National Recreation Area saw 45,500 people, North Cascades National Park 28,650 and Ross Lake National Recreation Area 905,400 visitors.
With attendance at record levels last year, America’s national parks appear to be more popular than ever. But advocates for the National Park Service say a $12 billion backlog in needed maintenance and repairs could mean fewer people will be able to enjoy America’s vast network of parks and monuments.
