‘Era of Megafires’ Premieres Tonight at Wenatchee Valley Museum

North 40 Productions, the U.S. Forest Service and many supporting partners will hold the world premiere and tour launch of “The Era of Megafires” tonight at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center. The 70-minute, multi-media traveling presentation is hosted by Dr. Paul Hessburg with the Pacific Northwest Research Station in Wenatchee and the University of Washington, where he has researched wildfire and landscape ecology for more than 27 years.
Joining Dan in the KOHO studio is Jeff Ostenson, the project’s director and Executive Producer of North 40 Productions. He said the presented material comes in the form of fast-moving, short, topic-based talks interspersed with compelling video vignettes. Think Ted X mixed with snappy documentary shorts.
The presentation will debut at the Wenatchee Valley Museum tonight at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored and hosted by the Chelan Douglas Land Trust. A Northwest tour of the presentation will follow, making stops in over 20 communities this fall and winter across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. North Central Washington area communities that will host the tour include Wenatchee, Leavenworth, Chelan, Yakima and Winthrop.
